Overview
- Servei Meteorològic de Catalunya has activated yellow-level rain warnings for about ten coastal and prelitoral comarcas, covering areas from Empordà to Baix Llobregat.
- Forecasters expect locally intense but short-lived downpours that could deliver roughly 20 litres per square metre in 30 minutes in some spots, while rating the overall episode a 2 out of 6 on the meteorological risk scale.
- Protecció Civil said soils already soaked by earlier storms make flash flooding more likely and therefore all flood-response plans remain active until the episode ends.
- Regional authorities also issued yellow alerts for strong wind gusts in northern and southern extremes and for rough seas off the Costa Brava and Empordà, with models indicating those conditions may persist toward Friday.
- Warnings are set for the afternoon and evening and are expected to be maintained or reissued through Thursday across much of the litoral and prelitoral belt, so residents should monitor official updates and avoid low-lying roads and flooded areas.
