Metallica Launches 'Maximum Metallica' on SiriusXM After 500-Person Hamptons Show

The new SiriusXM channel begins rolling out exclusive content as the Hamptons performance gets its first broadcast on Sept. 1.

  • On Aug. 28, Metallica played a 95-minute greatest-hits set under a roughly 500-capacity tent at Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, marking their smallest show in nearly a decade.
  • Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo paid tribute to Ozzy Osbourne with a spirited “Crazy Train” duet during their mid-set doodle.
  • Maximum Metallica launched Aug. 29 on channel 42 and is free to access in SiriusXM-equipped vehicles through September.
  • The recorded Talkhouse concert premieres Sept. 1 at 12 p.m. ET on Maximum Metallica, rebroadcasts throughout the week, streams on the SiriusXM app, and airs in full on Howard 101 on Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. ET/PT.
  • The invite-only audience mixed contest-winning fans with VIPs including Paul McCartney, Howard Stern, Michael J. Fox, Sylvester Stallone, Andy Cohen, Colin Jost, Heidi Gardner and Chad Smith.
