Overview

  • Konami officially announced Fox Hunt during its June 12 Press Start showcase as the remake’s new online multiplayer mode.
  • Directed by Yu Sahara, Fox Hunt is a completely original mode rather than a revival of Metal Gear Online to reflect modern multiplayer expectations.
  • Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is slated to launch on August 28, 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
  • The game also restores the Secret Theater feature with classic and new cutscenes and adds crossover challenges exclusive to each platform, including Snake vs. Monkey on PS5 and PC and Snake vs. Bomberman on Xbox Series X|S.
  • Konami has not disclosed specifics such as match size or cross-play support, and some longtime fans have expressed disappointment that Fox Hunt does not bring back the original Metal Gear Online experience.
