Meta Turns to Arm Neoverse for AI Ranking in Multi-Year Partnership

Meta is adding capacity with a new $1.5 billion data center in Texas.

Overview

  • Meta will migrate its personalization, ranking and recommendation systems across Facebook and Instagram to Arm-based data-center platforms, including Neoverse.
  • Meta and Arm co-developed adaptations to Meta’s AI infrastructure software for Arm architectures and will release the improvements as open source.
  • The companies say Arm-based servers deliver higher performance with lower power use than x86 systems, strengthening Arm’s position against Intel and AMD in servers.
  • The agreement is structured as a multi-year technical collaboration without equity stakes or transfers of physical infrastructure between the firms.
  • Meta’s wider buildout includes the Prometheus project in Ohio targeting multiple gigawatts by 2027 with a dedicated 200 MW gas plant and the Hyperion campus in Louisiana planned for up to 5 GW through 2030.
