Meta to Discontinue Workplace App by 2026

Company shifts focus to AI and metaverse, offering Workvivo as a transition option for existing users.

Workplace will remain operational until August 31, 2025, then become read-only until June 2026.
Meta is partnering with Zoom's Workvivo for the transition of existing Workplace customers.
Workplace was initially launched in 2016 as a competitor to Slack and Microsoft Teams.
The decision follows Meta's strategic pivot to artificial intelligence and metaverse technologies.
Customers will receive a 50% discount on Workplace starting September 2024.
