Meta Sets Sept. 30 U.S. Launch for Ray‑Ban Meta Display, Opens Pop‑Up Labs and Taps Verizon as First Carrier

Required demos at new pop-up labs signal a hands-on rollout as U.S. sales begin Sept. 30 with Verizon as the first carrier.

Overview

  • Meta will open Meta Lab pop-ups for in-person demos in Las Vegas on Oct. 16, Los Angeles on Oct. 24 and New York on Nov. 13, with its Burlingame store already operating under the Meta Lab banner.
  • The Ray‑Ban Meta Display requires or prioritizes an in‑person fitting, and Meta says demo appointments in many major cities are already booked through mid‑October.
  • The display model costs $799 and launches in the U.S. on Sept. 30, featuring a right‑lens 600×600 micro‑LED HUD (20° FOV, up to 90Hz) and control via the sEMG‑based Meta Neural Band.
  • Verizon announced it will be the first carrier to sell the Ray‑Ban Meta Display in select stores this fall, with customers able to book in‑store demos through Verizon.
  • Meta introduced a developer preview of its Wearables Device Access Toolkit arriving later this year, offering camera and audio access on its glasses during preview while display access is out of scope, with early partners including 18Birdies, Disney Imagineering R&D and Twitch.
