Overview
- Meta made the Muse Spark API available as a U.S. public preview and released an upgraded Muse Spark 1.1 for developers.
- Muse Spark 1.1 is multimodal and agent-capable and can write and debug code, operate software and call external tools, and interpret text, images and video.
- Meta published per-token pricing of $1.25 per million input tokens and $4.25 per million output tokens and offered registered developers a $20 trial credit.
- The model is already live in the Meta AI app and web in a 'Thinking' mode and Meta plans to roll Muse Spark into WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and future devices to replace Llama-based agents.
- The move follows Muse Spark's April private tests and reflects Meta's effort to commercialize advanced models and compete with OpenAI and Anthropic for developer adoption.
