Overview
- Meta began public rollout this week of Muse, an AI personal agent that can accept a goal, make a plan, and carry out multi-step tasks such as booking travel, sending emails, and making purchases.
- The initial release is limited to U.S. users age 18 and over on iOS, Android and the web with Muse also available inside WhatsApp and Instagram.
- Muse connects to third-party services including Gmail, Google Calendar and Drive, Ticketmaster, OpenTable and Plaid so it can act inside apps on a user’s behalf with permission.
- Meta built Muse inside a dedicated Muse Secure VM and runs an oversight agent called Sentinel that monitors internet access while promising a future encrypted Muse Confidential VM to further limit data exposure.
- Meta is offering a free tier plus paid plans roughly priced at $20 and $100 per month, the launch lifted Meta shares about 6.5–7 percent, and analysts say user adoption and clear monetization will determine whether Muse drives lasting growth.
