Meta Launches Enterprise Platform to Sell Its AI Models and Agents

The company plans to turn recent consumer AI work into paid business tools supported by massive infrastructure spending.

Overview

  • Meta announced on Monday that it is commercializing its internal AI stack as Meta Enterprise Platform and will offer Muse, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code to companies and developers.
  • Chirantan “CJ” Desai was hired as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer to lead the effort and will report directly to Mark Zuckerberg; Desai formerly led MongoDB and held senior roles at Cloudflare and ServiceNow.
  • Desai’s departure prompted MongoDB to name Dev Ittycheria interim CEO and drove a sharp drop in MongoDB shares while Meta’s stock fell modestly after the announcement.
  • Muse, the consumer-facing personal AI agent that handles tasks like shopping, travel bookings, email and payments, has climbed App Store and Google Play charts and will be one of the first products offered to customers.
  • Meta says the platform will be backed by its large AI infrastructure investments and will include built-in security and privacy features, a move that could speed enterprise adoption of AI tools and change how companies buy and deploy large models.
