Meta Expands Threads Ad Support to Advertisers Globally

Overview

  • Meta has opened Threads to all eligible advertisers worldwide, enabling them to run image-based ads within user feeds.
  • Ad placement on Threads is now a default option for new campaigns using Advantage+ or manual placements, with advertisers able to opt out.
  • Threads ads are supported by Meta’s brand safety and suitability standards, ensuring proper ad placement and user control over their ad experience.
  • The rollout follows a limited test that began in January 2025 with select advertisers, including Wendy’s and GroupM.
  • Threads, launched in July 2023 as a competitor to X (formerly Twitter), has grown to over 320 million monthly active users and continues to add more than 1 million sign-ups daily.
