Meta Expands Cross-Posting Capabilities from Instagram to Threads

In a bid to enhance user engagement, Meta tests a new feature allowing Instagram photos to be shared directly on Threads.

Meta's global test enables users to cross-post still images from Instagram to Threads, aiming to integrate user experiences across platforms.
The feature is currently in a testing phase, with availability on both iOS and Android devices, but does not support Reels.
Users can opt-in to the cross-posting feature and have the flexibility to deactivate it at any time.
Cross-posting includes automatic conversion of Instagram captions and hashtags into plain text for Threads.
The initiative is part of Meta's broader strategy to increase activity on Threads, which recently surpassed 150 million monthly users.
