Meta Brings Back Jobs on Facebook in the U.S., Centering Local Hiring in Marketplace

The US-only rollout revives a 2017 feature shuttered in 2023 to target local entry-level, trade, service roles.

Overview

  • Listings are now live in a dedicated Jobs tab within Marketplace and may also surface in relevant Groups and on Business Pages, with filters for category, distance, and job type.
  • All postings are public to users 18 and older, and job seekers can contact employers directly via Messenger and receive personalized recommendations.
  • Small businesses can create listings through Marketplace, their Page, or Meta Business Suite, specifying pay, hours, and requirements for local discovery.
  • Facebook’s eligibility rules exclude certain roles, including adult services, drugs, and in-person childcare, and the tool is subject to non-discrimination policies.
  • Availability is limited to the United States for now, marking a return after the jobs program’s initial 2017 launch, 2022 scaling back, and 2023 shutdown.
