  • Meta and defense startup Anduril have launched the EagleEye project to develop augmented reality headsets for US soldiers.
  • AI-enabled sensors in the headsets are designed to expand soldiers’ situational awareness by improving sight, hearing and weapons-control capabilities.
  • The effort is part of the US Army’s $22 billion headsets program, for which Meta and Anduril have also bid on a separate $100 million contract for specialized VR devices.
