Overview

  • Meta now displays a pop-up warning that reminds users their prompts are public and can be suggested on other Meta apps before they can post to the Discover feed.
  • A second tap is required to activate the “Post to feed” button, adding an extra confirmation step to sharing.
  • Users can adjust Data & Privacy settings to make all public prompts visible only to themselves and opt out of having prompts suggested on Facebook and Instagram.
  • The Discover feed has shifted to predominantly AI-generated images, reducing the display of text and audio posts that previously exposed medical, legal, and financial details.
  • Privacy experts warn that the app’s design still risks accidental overshares and broad data exposure across Meta platforms.
