Overview

  • An Inner London Crown Court jury found Jack Sparkes, Max Michaels-Dubois and Daniel Dean guilty of affray and Kelsey Millar guilty of assault while Alex Fackerell was acquitted of affray.
  • CCTV shown at trial captured officers punching, headbutting and shoving members of a group of Romanian nationals after their December 1, 2023 boat party docked near the London Eye.
  • The defendants had claimed they acted in self-defence to protect PC Fackerell from an alleged threat despite no weapon being recovered at the scene.
  • All four officers remain on bail and will face sentencing on October 22, 2025, where pre-sentence reports will inform whether they receive custodial terms.
  • Chief Superintendent Colin Wingrove said the off-duty conduct fell well below the standards expected and prompted the Met to restart suspended misconduct reviews.
