Met Police Officer Convicted of Coercive Control and Fraud for Exploiting Partners

Prosecutors said he targeted women he met on dating apps to cover debts driven by a gambling addiction.

Overview

  • A jury at Southwark Crown Court convicted Lewis Rollins on Thursday of two counts of coercive or controlling behaviour and three counts of fraud.
  • Prosecutors said his gambling drove the crimes and that he used emotional pressure, including suicide threats, to obtain money.
  • Dr Georgia Miller told the court he monitored her phone and attacked her in a Birmingham hotel room in July 2022.
  • Evidence showed he drew funds from several women, including £1,000 for a bet, over £1,000 for rent, £1,500 for rent, £2,500 from a £4,000 loan, and £800 for a housing deposit.
  • Jurors could not reach a verdict on a damaging‑property charge, and a separate earlier trial had already convicted him of assaulting a fourth woman.
