Overview
- The Met announced a promised gift of 188 works by 37 Dada and Surrealist artists from trustee John A. Pritzker.
- Thirty-five pieces from the gift will go on view in Man Ray: When Objects Dream, opening September 14, 2025 and running through February 1, 2026.
- The donation includes more than 100 books, pamphlets and journals, plus funding to launch the Bluff Collaborative for Research on Dada and Surrealism.
- Museum leadership positioned the gift as bolstering preparations for the Oscar L. Tang and H. M. Agnes Hsu-Tang Wing, with construction slated to start next year and finish by 2030.
