Merseyside Police Release CCTV in Appeals Over Separate Bus and Street Attacks

Investigators now focus on identifying people shown in newly released images after ruling out an earlier arrest.

  • Police issued images after a 16-year-old reported being inappropriately touched on an Arriva 86A bus from Liverpool One on August 21, seeking a man who may have information.
  • In Seaforth on September 21, a woman in her 20s reported being followed, having her mouth covered and being pushed to the ground; a 27-year-old initially arrested was released with no further action.
  • Detectives released CCTV of a cyclist believed to hold information about the Seaforth incident and urged residents to check cameras near Crosby Road South and Belgrade Road.
  • On September 26, two men fought on the top deck of the 21 bus near Rice Lane, leaving one victim with part of his ear bitten off; a 43-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray and assault and released under investigation.
