Overview

  • The force confirmed on June 16 that after reviewing potential accomplices and failures to prevent the atrocity no further charges will be brought.
  • Rudakubana was handed a minimum 52-year sentence in January for killing seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, six-year-old Bebe King and nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar at a Taylor Swift-themed party last July.
  • Counter Terror Policing’s Prevent scheme recorded three referrals on Rudakubana between 2019 and 2020 over violent conduct and interest in extremist content.
  • He was permanently expelled from The Acorns School after admitting to carrying a knife onto campus on multiple occasions.
  • The two-phase inquiry will first investigate the lead-up to the attack and then explore wider issues of child radicalisation and interagency information-sharing.
