Mersey Ferries Service Suspended Until Wednesday Following Technical Fault

Commuters are using Merseyrail cross-river tickets following withdrawal of replacement bus services.

  • Monday’s commuter sailings were cancelled just before 4pm as a technical fault emerged and persisted into Tuesday.
  • No replacement bus shuttles are running on Tuesday, marking a change from Monday’s Seacombe–Hamilton Square service.
  • Cross-river commuter tickets are valid on Merseyrail trains between James Street and Hamilton Square in lieu of the ferry.
  • The Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and Mersey Ferries have apologised for the disruption and promised further updates.
  • Full weekday ferry operations are scheduled to restart at 7:20am on Wednesday, July 9.
