- The 2025 ceremony will take place on October 16 at Newcastle’s Utilita Arena, marking the prize’s first staging outside London.
- Nine shortlisted acts are confirmed to perform one track each: Emma-Jean Thackray, FKA twigs, Jacob Alon, Joe Webb, Martin Carthy, Pa Salieu, Pulp, Sam Fender and Wolf Alice.
- A week-long Mercury Prize Newcastle Fringe will run October 9–15, including an Art of the Album Day and a live recording of The Record Club featuring English Teacher’s Lily Fontaine.
