MercedesAMG Names Stefan Weckbach CEO Effective July 2026

A VolkswagenPorsche veteran brings EV development credentials to steer the Top End Vehicle portfolio.

  • Weckbach will assume the role on July 1, 2026 and also lead the Top End Vehicle Group, which includes MercedesMaybach and the G‑Class.

  • Mercedes CTO Jörg Burzer endorsed the appointment, highlighting Weckbach’s deep product knowledge, strategic capability and breadth across performance and luxury segments.
  • Weckbach currently leads Group Strategy and Group Product Strategy at Volkswagen and previously held senior Porsche roles associated with the Taycan and the Cayenne Electric, according to reporting.
