- Mercedes unveiled the redesigned GLA on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, publishing specifications, equipment options and starting prices with sales due to begin at the end of July.
- At launch Mercedes is focusing on battery‑electric variants called GLA 200, GLA 250+ and GLA 350 4Matic, with a hybrid version scheduled to arrive later.
- Mercedes says the midrange GLA 250+ uses an 85‑kWh battery and an 800‑volt electrical architecture that enables up to 320 kW peak charging and a claimed WLTP range of up to 657 kilometres.
- The new GLA grows to 4.47 metres, adds about 410–415 litres of cargo space with up to 1,400 litres with seats folded, and gives BEV buyers a 107‑litre frunk and an upgraded MBUX cockpit with up to three displays.
- If the manufacturer figures hold up in independent testing, the GLA could shift Mercedes' compact‑SUV buyers toward long‑range EVs and faster charging, but range and fast‑charge numbers still need real‑world validation.
