Mercedes Previews Electric GLC With 39.1-Inch Hyperscreen Before Munich Debut

Overview

  • Mercedes officially showed the GLC with EQ Technology’s interior, confirming a pillar-to-pillar 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen using a matrix backlight of more than 1,000 LEDs with intelligent zone dimming, for which a patent has been filed.
  • The display will be optional, with reporting indicating lower trims will use smaller screens rather than the full-width panel.
  • The EV sits on the dedicated MB.EA platform with an 800V electrical architecture and a wheelbase 129 mm longer than the combustion GLC, and it is positioned as the EQC’s effective successor.
  • The world premiere is scheduled for September 7 at IAA Mobility in Munich, with sales expected to begin in early 2026 and U.S. availability reported for spring 2026.
  • Mercedes cites charging capability over 320 kW enabling roughly 162 miles (260 km) of range added in about 10 minutes, though final certified range and charging figures are pending.
