Mercedes-Benz Ends EQB After 2025 in U.S. and Canada

The move reflects a pivot to the MMA architecture that will spawn two successor SUVs.

Overview

  • A Mercedes spokesperson confirmed the EQB has reached the end of its planned lifecycle and will not be sold in the U.S. or Canada after the 2025 model year.
  • The company reiterated its commitment to electrification and said two SUVs on its new architecture are forthcoming, echoing plans first outlined at IAA Mobility 2023.
  • Reporters say a redesigned GLB-based model sharing technology with the new CLA on the MMA platform is expected to take the EQB’s place.
  • Introduced in 2021 on the older MFA platform, the EQB offered a 70.5 kWh battery, up to 100 kW DC fast charging, and an optional third-row seat.
  • U.S. sales fell 36% last year to 8,885 units, and the 2025 range ran from the $53,050 EQB 250+ to higher-output 4MATIC variants with lower EPA range estimates.
