Overview

  • Two GT XX prototypes at Italy’s Nardò high-speed track covered 5,479 km in 24 hours and reached 40,075 km in 7 days, 13 hours, 24 minutes and 7 seconds.
  • Mercedes says the effort yielded 25 records, including longest distances over 12–168 hours and fastest times to fixed distances from 2,000 km up to the Earth’s circumference.
  • The 24-hour mark exceeded XPeng P7’s recent record by 1,518 km, with average stint speeds around 300 km/h and only brief ultra-fast charging stops.
  • A rotating team of 17 drivers ran two-hour shifts, and both cars finished the campaign within 25 km of each other after 3,177 laps of the 12.5 km oval.
  • The concept’s hardware includes three oil-cooled Yasa axial-flux motors (~1,360 hp) and a directly cooled >800 V NCMA battery capable of roughly 850 kW charging, previewing tech slated for future AMG.EA models.
