Overview
- Mercado Libre confirmed Monday that it will build a US$91 million storage center in Estación Juárez Celman, Córdoba, as its first large storage facility located outside the Buenos Aires metro area.
- The facility will cover 60,000 square meters, hold up to six million products and is expected to generate about 2,000 direct jobs plus roughly 700 indirect positions.
- Plaza Logística will develop the site and the project is part of Mercado Libre’s broader US$3.4 billion Argentina investment plan for 2026, making this the company’s fifth national storage center and its second announced this year.
- Company officials say the hub will act as a regional supply node for Centro, NOA and NEA, which should cut delivery times, widen product availability for local sellers and lower logistics costs for small and medium businesses.
- An opening around late 2027 is the target but the schedule and specific fiscal terms remain to be finalized, so the market should watch changes to the timeline and any municipal or provincial incentives that affect project rollout.
