Mentally Ill Man Threatens Mass Shooting at Stanley Cup Final, Arrested

Matthew DeSavio, a 33-year-old man with a history of mental illness, was arrested for threatening to carry out a mass shooting at T-Mobile Arena during Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final.
DeSavio posted threatening messages referencing the 2017 Las Vegas shooting on social media, saying the city should prepare for another "massacre."
DeSavio has a history of arrests for domestic battery, stalking, and threatening terrorism and was previously found incompetent to stand trial.
DeSavio was released from custody in October 2020 after no psychiatric facilities were available to hold him.
DeSavio now faces charges including threatening an act of terrorism, aggravated stalking, and violating a restraining order and is being held on $60,000 bail.
