- The new materials include a letter from Erik Menéndez to his cousin alleging sexual abuse by their father and a sworn declaration from former Menudo member Roy Rosselló describing his own abuse by José Menéndez
- In May 2025, their sentences were reduced from life without parole to 50 years to life, triggering eligibility for their first parole hearing in over 30 years
