Mendy joins Lorient on two-year deal after rape acquittal

Mendy signed with Ligue 1 club Lorient after being found not guilty of rape and attempted rape charges.
The 28-year-old left Manchester City as a free agent and passed a medical with Lorient.
Lorient announced a two-year contract for the French international defender.
Mendy last played for Manchester City in 2021 before being suspended amid rape allegations.
The World Cup winner will wear number 5 for Lorient after leaving Manchester City.
