Mendoza Updates Professional Driver License Rules to Match National Standards

Officials say the change standardizes evaluations to improve license traceability.

Overview

  • Decree No. 2308/2025, published in the provincial Official Gazette, revises classes C, D and E to align with National Decree 196/2025 under Argentina’s transit law framework.
  • License validity now varies by age: 21 to 65 years for five years, 66 to 70 for two years, and over 70 with yearly confirmation of psychophysical fitness.
  • Renewals are granted for the full term only if the psychophysical exam is passed, and authorities may shorten the period based on the exam report.
  • Police and provincial penitentiary personnel who serve as drivers are exempt from the Class B seniority requirement when applying for professional licenses.
  • Class D remains barred to applicants with serious criminal records, and people with disabilities can qualify using adapted vehicles if they meet all fitness and technical requirements.
