Overview
- The west wing of the Terminal de Ómnibus de Mendoza was inaugurated as Espacio Costanera on June 24, 2026, marking the final phase of a multi-year concession-led remodel.
- The 4,500 m2 mixed-use area houses national and international food and retail brands including McDonald’s and KFC, a sporting outlet, entertainment for children, and about 150 validated parking spaces.
- Authorities signed an agreement to integrate the terminal’s private security cameras into the provincial videovigilance system and added features such as a pre-boarding zone to control platform access.
- Terminal management says the project cost roughly US$25 million and raised formal employment on site from about 600 to nearly 1,300 workers, while the complex handles an estimated 60,000–90,000 people a day depending on season.
- The development closes a concession process launched in 2017 that officials say reduced past crime at the terminal, expanded commercial activity and aims to improve tourist infrastructure in Greater Mendoza.
