Overview
- The provincial government launched the interministerial operation on Monday and deployed about 2,000 police per shift to patrol reservoirs, parks and tourist routes across Gran Mendoza, Valle de Uco, the East and South of the province.
- Náutica, Bomberos and police limited navigation to daytime until 19:00, banned bathing in non‑authorized water bodies, and inspected boats for lifejackets, registration and engine permits to reduce drownings and accidents.
- Alcohol controls were a central focus with fixed and mobile breathalyzer checkpoints, limits on carrying large volumes of alcohol into mass events, and inspector powers to seize supplies and close clandestine parties; the province registered 24 authorized private events.
- Health and emergency coverage was reinforced with SEC motor units and extra ambulances at Potrerillos, El Carrizal and urban parks while the Fire Management Plan and Defensa Civil boosted patrols and warned of strong gusts and steep fines up to AR$70 million for prohibited fires.
- Police reported 2,409 vehicle inspections and 1,078 breathalyzer tests during the operation, with 45 positive results and 143 vehicles retained, showing broad compliance but highlighting enforcement that could curb drunk driving and unsafe gatherings.
