Overview
- The Mendoza electoral board closed the window for alliance registration for the February 22, 2026 municipal elections that will renew half the council seats in six departments.
- La Cámpora will run outside the PJ with two labels, competing as Manso Frente Mendocino in Maipú, Rivadavia, Santa Rosa, La Paz and Luján de Cuyo, and as Alianza San Rafael Futuro in San Rafael, backed by Unidad Popular and the Partido Federal.
- The PJ intendente bloc filed PJ-branded fronts across the six departments, including Maipú Crece, Fuerza Justicialista in Luján de Cuyo and Rivadavia, San Rafael en Marcha, Elegí Gestión La Paz and Santa Rosa Gana.
- Thirteen alliances in total registered, featuring La Libertad Avanza + Cambia Mendoza, the Frente Verde, the Frente de Izquierda, the Frente Libertario Demócrata and the local Proyecto Maipú Nuevo Rumbo.
- La Libertad Avanza + Cambia Mendoza asked the electoral board to bar the name Manso Frente, alleging voter confusion with the provincial “Mendoza, Manso Destino” campaign, while a prior La Cámpora impugnation over PJ candidate selection was rejected and concejal lists are due January 3.
