Men Charged After Alleged Gang-Related Home Invasion and Police Shooting in Sydney

Two 20-year-old men face multiple charges after an attempted break-in, a police chase, and the discovery of firearms and a grenade in a stolen car.

Paea Tuiniua and Faez Finau, both 20, are accused of attempting to break into a home in Edensor Park, Sydney, on New Year's Eve.
The alleged incident escalated into a police chase during which shots were fired at a police car, striking its bonnet and wheel arch, though no officers were injured.
Tuiniua was arrested at Brisbane Airport after a week on the run and extradited to New South Wales; Finau was arrested at the scene of the chase.
Weapons found in the stolen car included two pistols, an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle, and a grenade, with police alleging links to organized crime groups.
Both men face numerous charges, including firearm offenses and aggravated break-and-enter, with court dates set for February and March.
