Melissa Rycroft Arrested After Alleged Collision With Ambulance

The arrest could prompt a probation-violation hearing that would change or extend the legal penalties she now faces.

Overview

  • Police say on Saturday, Oct. 31, Rycroft allegedly struck a stopped Southlake Fire Department ambulance, left the scene, and was identified and arrested soon after on suspicion of a second-offense DWI, an accident causing more than $200 in damage, and driving with an invalid license.
  • Booking records show her total bond was set at $9,000, with $7,500 for the DWI charge, $1,000 for the accident and $500 for the invalid license.
  • Rycroft posted an Instagram statement saying she has been struggling with her mental health, that she is ashamed, and that she is getting professional care while asking for privacy and public grace.
  • This is her second DWI arrest since a September 23, 2025 crash that police reports and court records tied to observable impairment and a .26 blood-alcohol reading, and in August 2026 she pleaded guilty and was placed on 20 months of probation with fines, community service, DWI education, substance screening and an ignition-interlock requirement.
  • Investigations and court proceedings remain ongoing and under Texas law a new arrest while on probation can lead a judge or prosecutor to seek a supervision-violation hearing that may continue, modify, extend, or revoke probation and increase penalties for the defendant.
