Melbourne Police Dismantle Syndicate Behind Pokémon Card Thefts and Crypto ATM Burglaries
Four individuals have been arrested in connection with a series of high-value robberies targeting collectible trading cards and cryptocurrency ATMs across the city.
- Police have arrested four men accused of being part of a criminal syndicate responsible for stealing over $50,000 in collectible trading cards and six cryptocurrency ATMs in Melbourne.
- The syndicate allegedly targeted hobby shops in Epping, Moonee Ponds, and Eumemmerring, focusing on valuable Pokémon, Disney Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and Magic: The Gathering cards.
- Raids on properties in Reservoir, Coburg North, Greensborough, and South Morang recovered stolen goods, firearms, ammunition, and other illicit items including a pill press machine and stolen car keys.
- Two primary suspects, aged 37 and 32, have been charged with multiple counts of burglary and other offenses, with court appearances scheduled for later this year.
- Police believe the syndicate was linked to organized crime networks and are continuing investigations into additional offenders and stolen goods.
