Overview

  • Meijer initiated the recall on June 17 after a customer alert revealed that some Frederik’s Dark Chocolate Almonds might contain undeclared cashews posing a life-threatening allergy risk.
  • The recall includes 12-ounce stand-up pouches (UPC 7-08820-68730-1; sell-by dates 05/07/2026 and 05/28/2026) and 8-count 1.5-ounce multi-pack boxes (UPC 7-19283-11923-0; sell-by date 05/05/2026).
  • Affected items were sold at Meijer stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.
  • No illnesses linked to the recalled product have been reported as of June 18.
  • Consumers with cashew allergies are advised to discontinue use and return the recalled products to any Meijer store for a full refund.
