PDP president Mehbooba Mufti has requested a one-time age relaxation for candidates applying for J&K Police sub-inspector posts.
Recruitment delays since 2019, caused by corruption allegations and exam cancellations, have left many aspirants over the current age limit of 28 years.
The selection process for the 2022 recruitment exam was canceled following irregularities, leading to a CBI probe and charges against 24 individuals, including a BSF officer.
The J&K Service Selection Board (JKSSB) recently advertised 669 sub-inspector posts with an age limit of 18–28 years, prompting calls for extending the limit to 33 years.
Mehbooba Mufti has tagged Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, urging immediate intervention to address the aspirants' concerns.
