Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez attended a fundraising event for Gaza, organized by comedian Ramy Youssef, with proceeds going to the American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA).
Megyn Kelly, a conservative commentator, called for a boycott of Swift, claiming that her attendance at the event was wrong and that she owes an apology to Israelis and Jewish Americans.
Kelly criticized ANERA as being 'highly political' and biased towards the Israel-Palestine conflict, however, ANERA's website states it does not work or coordinate with Hamas, a group designated as a 'terrorist group' by the U.S. government.
Other celebrities, including Anya Taylor-Joy, Zoë Kravitz, and Cara Delevingne, also attended the event but have not faced the same level of criticism.
Swift's fans defended her on social media, arguing that her attendance at a comedy show does not equate to active support for Gaza.
