• Jadhav initially paid ₹5 lakh for his daughter’s supposed State Bank posting after trusting Tanaji, a former colleague from the Majas Depot.
• Family members later paid about ₹28.55 lakh in installments as the accused expanded the offer to others seeking roles at SBI and the Thane Municipal Corporation.
• The scheme unraveled when beneficiaries visited an address on appointment letters and found no State Bank branch, after which the accused allegedly demanded further payments.
• Meghwadi police have registered charges of cheating, criminal conspiracy, and misappropriation of funds, and officers say arrests are expected soon as the probe continues.
