Overview
- Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K. Sangma visited the Telangana Integrated Command and Control Centre in Hyderabad on Thursday and reviewed its technology, operations and coordination practices.
- During the visit officials demonstrated the Technology Fusion Centre, a large real-time video wall, the Dial-112 emergency response system and the centre’s disaster-management operations.
- Sangma publicly called the Telangana centre a benchmark model and said Meghalaya will send a team to Hyderabad to study the centre’s institutional and operational framework in detail.
- The state has so far committed only to a study visit; no formal adoption, funding decisions or implementation timeline have been announced.
- Integrated command centres combine live data feeds, multiagency coordination and centralized monitoring to speed emergency response, and Meghalaya’s study could lead to pilot projects, procurement moves or administrative changes if officials decide to replicate elements.
