Overview
- Police named Sonam Raghuvanshi as the main accused alongside Raj Kushwaha and three alleged hired assailants in the killing of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi.
- The five are charged under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for murder (Section 103(1)), disappearance or destruction of evidence (Section 238(a)) and criminal conspiracy (Section 61(2)).
- Investigators say the murder was executed in Sonam’s presence and that the case is supported by forensic reports, witness statements, CCTV and recovered items including weapons and clothing.
- All five accused are in judicial custody, and police plan a supplementary chargesheet for three others—Lokendra Tomar, Balla Ahirwar and Silome James—over alleged evidence destruction.
- Authorities also cleared Weisawdong Falls to reopen to tourists after jurisdictional issues were settled, following earlier restrictions during the investigation.
