Overview
- The Special POCSO Court in East Khasi Hills convicted BSF personnel Kamal Kumar Thapa for a 2013 assault, imposing 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment and a Rs 50,000 fine under Section 6 of the Act.
- Thapa also received concurrent five-year terms under IPC Sections 328 and 366A, with the judge recommending Rs 5 lakh compensation via the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
