Meghalaya Maps 2025 Electorate to 2005 Roll as Nationwide Special Revision Nears
State officials detail verification rules for voters ahead of the Election Commission’s scheduled exercise.

- A preliminary mapping of current electors against the 2005 intensive-revision roll has been completed, the Chief Electoral Officer said.
- The electorate rose from 1,335,816 in 2005 to 2,306,384 in September 2025, with 1,169,062 women and 1,137,316 men, and six third-gender electors listed.
- Electors are grouped into four categories with tailored document requirements based on 2005 roll presence and birth dates spanning before July 1, 1987, through after December 2, 2004.
- Following a Supreme Court order, Aadhaar will be accepted as proof of identity, not citizenship, alongside 11 other permitted documents.
- Polling stations have been rationalised with 49 new and 12 merged for a total of 3,615, and 35 additional Assistant Electoral Registration Officers have been approved for a statewide total of 126, with the 2005 roll and a search tool available online.
