Megadeth Sets One-Night Global Theater Event for 'Behind the Mask' Ahead of Final Album Release

The one-night film pairs a 40-year Dave Mustaine retrospective with the first public play of the self-titled final album.

  • Megadeth and Trafalgar Releasing will screen Megadeth: Behind The Mask worldwide on January 22, 2026 in more than 1,000 cinemas across 35-plus countries.
  • The event features a career-spanning interview and Mustaine’s track-by-track reflections woven through the world-premiere listening of the new album.
  • Tickets go on sale December 11 at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET / 2 p.m. GMT / 3 p.m. CET, with the official trailer debuting the same day.
  • The final studio album, titled Megadeth, arrives January 23 via Mustaine’s Tradecraft on Frontiers’ BLKIIBLK label, produced by Chris Rakestraw and including a reimagined bonus version of Ride The Lightning.
  • Farewell tour dates for 2026 are posted, and Dave Mustaine says the tour could continue for three to five years.
