Meg Ryan Makes Rom-Com Return By Directing, Writing, and Starring in 'What Happens Later' Alongside David Duchovny

Meg Ryan co-writes, directs and stars as Willa in the new romantic comedy "What Happens Later" alongside David Duchovny as her ex-lover Bill.
The film follows the two exes as they reconnect and rekindle their relationship after getting stranded overnight together at an airport.
"What Happens Later" is Ryan's first romantic comedy in over a decade and aims to evolve the genre by drawing inspiration from 1940s films.
The script is adapted from the play "Shooting Star" by Steven Dietz and Kirk Lynn and focuses on the pair reminiscing about the past and musing about the future.
"What Happens Later" will be released in theaters on October 13, marking Meg Ryan's full return to romantic comedies.
