Meerut Couple Faces Trial for Gruesome Murder of Merchant Navy Officer

Rastogi confessed to the crime after her parents confronted her, leading to the arrest of both suspects on March 19, 2025.
Investigations revealed the murder was premeditated, driven by fears that Rajput would interfere with the accused's drug use and relationship, and that funds sent by Rajput were used to support their lifestyle.
Saurabh Rajput's family has appealed for justice and custody of his daughter, while Rastogi's family has disowned her and demanded capital punishment for her actions.
