Medical Examiner Finds PCP and Dehydration Caused Death of Baltimore Woman Found in Safe

Officials have not said whether the investigation continues.

Overview

  • An autopsy determined Dawn White, 53, died from PCP intoxication and dehydration complicated by an abnormal body position that led to suffocation.
  • The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner listed the manner of death as undetermined, and a full report was not ready for release as of Dec. 16.
  • White was discovered on April 19 inside a four-foot safe at her home on the 3500 block of Benzinger Road after police initially labeled the case a suspicious death.
  • Family members said they filed a missing-person report and that police conducted a welfare check before relatives later found her body.
  • Relatives questioned whether domestic violence played a role, and Baltimore Police confirmed two domestic dispute reports at the home in March.
