• The UP government’s July 29 transfer order reshuffled 23 IAS officers and Roopam succeeded Manish Kumar Verma as DM on July 30.
• Roopam is a 2014-batch IAS officer who led infrastructure projects at the Greater Noida Authority and demonstrated frontline crisis management as DM of Hapur and Kasganj.
• She has launched a transparent grievance-redress mechanism to ensure time-bound resolution of citizen complaints and improve welfare scheme delivery.
• Roopam plans to convene departmental meetings for land acquisitions and strengthen coordination to speed up the Jewar airport project.
• She is the daughter of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and married to Manish Bansal, the DM of Saharanpur.
